Hera Chan adopts intense method acting for TVB drama

Actress Hera Chan has garnered attention for her intense preparation for the TVB drama ‘Death Has Evidence’. To portray the character Cheng Zhi Xin, a forensic pathologist with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Chan adopted several lifestyle changes to mirror the character’s traits.

Chan reported studying books on OCD to understand both the behavioral and cognitive aspects of the condition, such as the repetitive need for answers. During filming, she reportedly began organizing and categorizing items instinctively and even suggested plot points to the director to enhance the character's portrayal. To maintain the character's sense of isolation, Chan also chose to spend her breaks alone on set.

Visual elements were also carefully managed, with Chan utilizing symmetrical hairstyles and jewelry to reflect the character's need for order. Her dedication has received praise from netizens for her professional commitment to the role.
