Hera Group expands waste management services in Imola and Misano Adriatico
Hera Group is implementing several waste management upgrades across the Emilia-Romagna and Adriatic regions of Italy.
In Imola, a new ecological island facility is planned for via Rimesse to replace the current site on via Brenta. The new facility, expected to open by 2028, will be nearly 10,000 square meters—double the size of the existing one. The project includes a reuse center for items in good condition, 2,000 square meters of green space, and a photovoltaic system. The new site will accommodate more waste types, including certain construction materials, and will feature a second weighing station to reduce wait times.
In Misano Adriatico, Hera is upgrading street recycling bins starting October 19. The update involves replacing bins for unsorted waste, paper, plastic, and organic matter. New bins for unsorted waste will feature pedal-operated lids and updated technology requiring a new ‘Carta Smeraldo’ access card, which is being distributed to residents via mail.
