Heracles Almelo wins Keuken Kampioen Divisie period title

Heracles Almelo has secured the first period title in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie following a 3-0 victory over RKC Waalwijk. The win ensures the club a spot in the promotion play-offs and a 75,000 euro bonus.

After a scoreless first half, Heracles took control in the second period. Tristan van Gilst opened the scoring from a penalty kick, followed by goals from Damon Mirani and Manny Rodríguez. The victory maintains Heracles' strong home record and places them at the top of the league standings.

Trainer Vincent Heilmann described the achievement as a “beautiful reward” for the team’s efforts and a compliment to the players, noting the difficulty of integrating many different players into a cohesive unit. While celebrating the period title, Heilmann emphasized that the club’s primary objective remains direct promotion to the Eredivisie.
