Heraklion police arrest minors and parents following school assault
Police in Heraklion, Crete, have arrested four minors and four parents or guardians following allegations of repeated violence against a 14-year-old female student at the city’s 5th Gymnasium.
The investigation, led by the Heraklion Juvenile Protection Office, follows a complaint filed by the victim's father. The most recent incident involved the four minors allegedly insulting the student and causing physical injury by throwing a plastic bottle at her, striking her in the head. The student was treated at a hospital and subsequently discharged, though she has been issued a document for a forensic medical examination.
The father’s complaint also details two prior incidents at the same school: an instance in early October where a student allegedly insulted the girl, and an incident on September 21 where two students reportedly pushed her down an internal staircase. The parents were arrested on suspicion of failing to prevent the minors from committing the alleged acts.
