Herbert Morote launches novel on Alma Mahler in Peru

Peruvian writer and historian Herbert Morote presented his latest book, "Yo, Alma Mahler, la novia del viento," published by Lluvia Editores. The novel offers a biographical portrait of Alma Mahler, the wife of composer Gustav Mahler, and examines her role in early‑20th‑century Viennese artistic circles that included Gustav Klimt, Oskar Kokoschka, Sigmund Freud and Ludwig Wittgenstein. Morote seeks to counter traditional patriarchal narratives by highlighting Alma’s own artistic ambitions and sacrifices.

The work is now available in major Lima bookstores such as El Virrey and Comunitas, and includes period photographs, biographical notes on the figures featured, and a basic bibliography for further reading.
