Hercules Metals advances Idaho copper exploration and cancels options
Hercules Metals is advancing exploration at its Hook target in western Idaho following drilling results from hole HER-26-03. The drill hole identified quartz-sericite-pyrite and skarn alterations, suggesting the potential for a third copper center on the property. While assay results are pending, the presence of these alterations and the shallow depth of the mineralized system may indicate that the Hook target is part of a broader porphyry copper district.
Alongside operational updates, the company announced the cancellation of 20.5 million stock options previously granted to board members, executives, and advisors. This move follows a request from the TSX Venture Exchange regarding a July tranche, prompting the company to also voluntarily retract remaining options from August. These changes occur during a leadership transition, with George Ogilvie serving as President and CEO since September 1.
Despite the exploration progress, Hercules Metals shares saw a decline of approximately 8.5% to 9.5% on Tuesday. This volatility is attributed to a broader market downturn driven by high bond yields and declining base metal prices.
