Hercules Metals hires former Arizona Sonoran team to lead Idaho Leviathan copper project

Hercules Metals (TSX‑V: BIG) announced that former Arizona Sonoran Copper executives will take over senior leadership of the company on 1 September. George Ogilvie will become president and chief executive officer, joined by six former Arizona Sonoran managers—including Nick Nikolakakis, Nick Hayduk, Travis Snider, Alison Dwoskin, Kevin Canario and Anthony Bottrill. Founder Chris Paul will shift to senior vice‑president of exploration and remain a director.

The leadership change follows Arizona Sonoran’s June sale to Hudbay Minerals for US$2 billion. The new team is tasked with advancing the Leviathan copper discovery in Idaho, described as a potentially large porphyry system with intercepts such as 185 m @ 0.84% Cu and 45 m @ 1.94% Cu. Leviathan sits within a 73‑km copper belt that Hercules controls, and the company aims to develop the project into a district‑scale operation. No formal mineral resource estimate has been released yet.

Ogilvie, a mining engineer with 36 years of experience, said the combined expertise of the incoming team and Hercules’ existing exploration staff will enable the company to “grow from a successful junior explorer into a leading US‑focused copper exploration and development company.”
