Herdade da Contenda and Faia Brava launch nature tourism project
Herdade da Contenda and Faia Brava have launched a joint project aimed at enhancing nature tourism in two ecologically significant territories. The partnership focuses on reconciling visitor experiences with biodiversity conservation and the sustainable development of local communities.
The project is built on three pillars: sustainable tourism promotion, the protection and valuation of natural heritage, and local community involvement. Planned actions include creating a network of local tourism partners, improving visitor infrastructure, qualifying hiking trails, and promoting environmental education and citizen science programs.
As part of these initiatives, Herdade da Contenda is also promoting the ‘Contenda ao Luar’ hiking trail. Scheduled for August 29, the walk offers participants views of the Alentejo landscape and opportunities for stargazing within the Dark Sky® Alqueva reserve, benefiting from the region's low light pollution.
