Herding dog Kajo saves owner from bull attack in Finland

A herding dog named Kajo prevented a serious injury or potential fatality at the Saloniemi dairy farm in Vaimaro, Laitila, on August 10. The incident occurred when a breeding bull jumped a fence into a herd of cows.

While attempting to guide the bull back using the dog, farm owner Riitta Saloniemi moved behind the animal to open a gate. This movement caused the bull to break the dog's visual control and charge Saloniemi from behind. The impact caused Saloniemi to lose consciousness temporarily.

Kajo intervened by herding the bull across a field and back over a fence to its own pasture, protecting Saloniemi from further harm. Saloniemi reported sustaining bruises and physical trauma from the collision but expressed gratitude for the dog's actions.
