Heredia water service interruptions scheduled for infrastructure maintenance

The Empresa de Servicios Públicos de Heredia (ESPH) has announced scheduled water service interruptions affecting thousands of residents in the northern cantons of Heredia, Costa Rica.

The utility provider will conduct critical infrastructure maintenance, including cleaning water storage systems to prevent sediment buildup, to ensure the quality and reliability of the region’s potable water supply. ESPH officials stated that the work has been strategically timed to minimize disruptions for local households and businesses, though residents are urged to prepare in advance. The first scheduled suspension is set to begin on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
