France prepares for 2026 cultural events and heritage celebrations
France will host several major cultural events in 2026, including Paris Design Week and the European Heritage Days. Paris Design Week will feature installations at iconic monuments such as the Arc de Triomphe and the Grand Palais, with the Musée Bourdelle also joining the program to showcase contemporary design in dialogue with historical works.
The European Heritage Days, scheduled for September 19–20, 2026, will offer free access to various sites across the country. Programs include guided tours and workshops in Hérault, Besançon, and Seine-Saint-Denis. Notable highlights include the restoration of Château Laurens in Agde and exhibitions at the Musée des Beaux-Arts et d'Archéologie.
Additionally, the Saison Méditerranée 2026 will run from May to October, featuring over 500 events across sixty cities to promote Mediterranean cultures, including significant contributions from Morocco and Tunisia.
