Heritage preservation efforts focus on Polish historical sites

Efforts are underway to preserve historical heritage in the Wielkopolska and Lubuskie regions of Poland. In Prusim near Kwilcz, the Olandia Foundation has revitalized an 18th-century manor and farm complex. The site serves as an open-air museum dedicated to Olęder settlement, featuring reconstructed traditional buildings, historical tools, and three historic windmills.

Other regional sites include the Regional and Nature Education Center in Mniszki, which operates out of a restored granary and stable to showcase traditional crafts and rural life. Additionally, the historic farm complex in Mnischy includes buildings dating back to the 17th and 19th centuries, such as a distillery from 1874.

In a separate preservation effort, Polish MP Paulina Matysiak has intervened to support the Krośniewicka Kolej Wąskotorowa (Krośniewice narrow-gauge railway). The railway, which dates back to the early 20th century and served local industry, faces potential loss due to infrastructure degradation and a lack of agreement on its future. While it is listed in the register of monuments, its operational status has been uncertain since passenger services ceased in the early 2000s.
