Heritage protection in Hungary and municipal lease extensions in Romania

In Hungary, the government office has revoked the demolition permit for the Pollák Palace, a historic monument located at Benczúr utca 4 near Andrássy út. The building, which later served as the Glück Sanatorium, holds significant historical value, having been home to notable figures such as traveler Dezső Gervay and surgeon Baron Manó Herczel.

In Romania, the Miercurea Ciuc (Csíkszereda) municipal government has extended its lease for temporary office space at the Márton Áron Cultural Center. While the city aims to move back into its renovated town hall by the end of the year, the lease with the Roman Catholic parish has been extended until February 2027 as a safety precaution. The extension ensures continuity in case renovation delays persist, with the rental rate remaining unchanged at 8.85 euros per square meter.
