Heritage railways expand seasonal services in Argentina and Spain

Historical railway services in Argentina and Spain are expanding their seasonal offerings to meet tourist demand.

In Esquel, Argentina, the La Trochita railway is preparing to introduce a second locomotive to increase service frequency. The local municipality is working on track repairs to facilitate this expansion, which aims to accommodate higher passenger volumes during the tulip season and summer. Planning is also underway for long-term events, including a significant astronomical phenomenon expected in February 2027.

In Spain, the Tren de la Fresa will resume its autumn season from October 3 to November 8. The service will operate 13 scheduled trips between Madrid and Aranjuez using historical carriages. This season features themed itineraries, including family-oriented pumpkin harvesting activities and musical tours tied to the XXXIII Festival de Música Antigua de Aranjuez. The campaign will conclude with a special free train organized for the elderly residents of Aranjuez.
