Herman Miller Revives Alexander Girard Throw Blanket Amid Design Trend

Herman Miller has reissued the Alexander Girard throw blanket in collaboration with Pendleton, using a blend of virgin wool and cotton and featuring previously unused patterns drawn from Girard’s 1965 redesign of Braniff International Airways. The new blanket is marketed as both a functional piece and a statement of mid‑century design heritage.

At the same time, the layered‑tops fashion trend has returned, with Mango offering pre‑styled two‑tone sets for about $30. The look, popularized by actress Monica Barbaro on a recent press tour, draws on Y2K aesthetics and aims to simplify the styling process for consumers.
