Hermannshof garden conducts climate change plant research
The Hermannshof show and demonstration garden in Weinheim serves as a scientific research site focused on plant resilience. The facility tests which plant species are most resistant to heat, drought, and the effects of climate change. The garden emphasizes climate-adapted plant communities that mimic natural environments.
The site also features the Hermannshof villa, a Neoclassical building constructed in 1820. Originally purchased in 1888 by the Freudenberg industrial family, the estate is currently utilized as a seminar center by the Freudenberg Group.
