Hermano Pascual, spiritual figure in Florencio Varela, dies at 71

Pascual Donato Morel, widely known as ‘el Hermano Pascual’, has died at the age of 71. He was a prominent figure in popular religious movements, particularly in the southern region of Greater Buenos Aires.

Originally from Villa Guillermina, Santa Fe, Morel became a significant spiritual reference in Florencio Varela. For decades, he drew thousands of people to ‘El Campito’ in the La Colonia area. Visitors traveled from across Argentina seeking relief from illness, pain, or personal despair, often citing his presence as a source of hope and spiritual comfort.

His death marks the end of a unique religious phenomenon in the region. His remains will be held in a wake at El Campito, the location that served as the center of his community work and spiritual gatherings for many years.
