Spain advances high-speed rail and judicial infrastructure projects

Spain is advancing several regional infrastructure and resource management projects. The Spanish Government has authorized the bidding of design projects for a 46-kilometer high-speed rail section between Talavera de la Reina and Talayuela, valued at approximately 14.7 million euros. This project includes the development of a new station in Oropesa and is divided into four lots.

In Talavera de la Reina, the Council of Ministers has also approved the construction of a new judicial building with a tender budget of 16.74 million euros. This facility aims to consolidate judicial services currently dispersed across three different buildings into a single, modern headquarters.

In Gijón, the first phase of the intermodal station project has been authorized, involving the demolition of the Carlos Marx viaduct and urban reorganization, with a contract value of approximately 40.8 million euros.

Regarding water resources, the Tagus-Segura hydrological management is under scrutiny as the CHT studies a request from Canal de Isabel II for a water concession from the Sorbe reservoir, while Castilla-La Mancha maintains its refusal to increase water transfers to Madrid due to environmental concerns.

In León, authorities have decided to delay the reopening of the road to Peñalba de Santiago until definitive protection works are completed to prevent further landslides caused by heavy rains.
