Hermosillo approves water utility credit and citizen investment program

The Hermosillo City Council has approved several municipal initiatives focused on business regularization and public investment. The council approved the continuation of a special program designed to incentivize small businesses to regularize their operations by offering flexible requirements for operating and environmental licenses.

Additionally, the council authorized short-term credits of up to 120 million pesos for the water utility Agua de Hermosillo (AGUAH). These funds are intended for liquidity, including employee bonuses and actions to ensure the city's water supply. The debt is expected to be repaid within 12 months using the agency's own resources.

Separately, the city launched the fifth edition of the 'Presupuesto Creces' program. This citizen participation initiative allows residents to propose and vote on local investment projects. This year, a budget of 100 million pesos has been allocated for the selected projects. Proposals can be submitted until October 6, followed by technical reviews and a public voting period in November.
