Hermosillo expands smart street‑light telemanagement to 12 boulevards

The municipal government of Hermosillo, Sonora, is launching the second phase of its intelligent street‑lighting system. The expansion adds 1,490 luminaires across twelve key boulevards—including Fco. Eusebio Kino, Abelardo L. Rodríguez, Rosales, Antonio de Vildósola, José María Morelos, Lázaro Cárdenas, López Portillo, Clouthier and Ignacio Soto—as well as the southern, eastern and northern peripheral zones.

The project, driven by Mayor Antonio Astiazarán and implemented through the Agencia Municipal de Energía y Cambio Climático (AMECC), builds on a first stage that monitored 963 lights in real time, detecting faults instantly and achieving energy savings of up to 28 % during the initial months. The new telemanagement platform enables remote monitoring, preventive maintenance, and quicker response to outages, aiming to improve service quality and free resources for other public services.
