Hermosillo expands urban transport fleet with 20 new buses

Sonora Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño has delivered 20 new 2027-model buses to the urban transport system in Hermosillo, representing an investment of 70 million pesos. The new units are designed to benefit approximately 41,000 users and feature amenities such as air conditioning, video surveillance cameras, electronic payment validators, radio communication, automatic passenger counters, and informative screens. To combat high temperatures, the buses also include thermal insulation and polarized windows.

This addition brings the total active fleet in Hermosillo to 355 units across 37 routes, a 40 percent increase from the 253 units operating at the start of the current administration in 2021. Since 2023, 175 new buses have been added to the city's system with a cumulative investment exceeding 574 million pesos. The Governor also confirmed that the passenger fare will remain unchanged at nine pesos.
