Hermosillo industrial fire damages three warehouses, 50 firefighters respond

A large fire broke out on the night of July 23, 2026 at a warehouse complex located at kilometer 11 on the Hermosillo‑Bahía de Kino road in Sonora, Mexico. The blaze engulfed three of the nine warehouses, destroying the structures and causing million‑dollar losses. Materials consumed included plastic mesh used for agricultural covering, paper, and inventory of vehicle plates and circulation cards stored by a state government office.

Nearly 50 firefighters from the Hermosillo Fire Department, supported by municipal police and civil protection personnel, contained the fire and prevented it from spreading to six adjacent warehouses, one of which stored agro‑chemicals. No casualties were reported, and vehicle registration services continued operating normally. Authorities are conducting follow‑up work to extinguish remaining hotspots and assess the full extent of the damage.
