Mexico faces airport protests and hurricane-driven disruptions

Mexico is experiencing significant transportation and weather disruptions. In Mexico City, the Benito Juárez International Airport (AICM) issued alerts regarding taxi driver protests near Terminal 1. The demonstrations, centered around Boulevard Puerto Aéreo, aim to address demands concerning authorized taxi services within the airport, potentially complicating vehicular access for passengers.

Simultaneously, in Sonora, Hurricane Polo is causing severe weather conditions. The National Meteorological Service has warned of torrential rains, strong winds reaching up to 110 km/h, and high waves in the Gulf of California. These conditions have already impacted aviation; Hermosillo International Airport reported flight cancellations for Aeroméxico routes connecting to Mexico City, following previous disruptions involving Viva Aerobús and Volaris.

Authorities recommend that passengers in both regions monitor official channels and contact their airlines directly to confirm flight statuses and plan for potential delays.
