Hermosillo invests 100 million pesos in public works and park lighting upgrade

The municipal government of Hermosillo allocated 100 million pesos to carry out 51 public‑works projects chosen directly by residents through the Presupuesto CRECES program. More than 70,000 citizens participated in selecting the projects, which are overseen by the city’s Director of Participation, Daniel García, and supported by the mayor, Antonio Astiazarán. The program aims to align municipal spending with community‑identified needs and to strengthen collaboration with local business groups.

Separately, the city completed a modernization of the lighting system at Parque Deportivo Los Portales, spending 928,000 pesos on new LED fixtures, higher poles and programmable controls. The upgrade, led by municipal officials including Sergio Pavlovich Escalante and Carla Neudert Córdova, is intended to improve safety and conditions for athletes and families using the park.
