Hermosillo launches art initiatives for creators and families

The Hermosillo municipal government, through the Institute Municipal de Cultura y Arte (IMCA), opened a call for artists, muralists and workshop leaders to join the tenth edition of the Parque Al Arte program. The invitation, announced by IMCA director Marianna González Gastélum, sets a submission deadline of 13 August 2026. Selected projects in music, dance, theatre, film, workshops, murals and interdisciplinary art will be carried out across city neighborhoods from August to December 2026.

Meanwhile, the Museo de Arte de Sonora (MUSAS) opened its summer programme, inviting families to explore exhibitions such as “Historia del arte de los títeres en Sonora” and a collective engraving show as part of the Segundo Festival de Grabado Héctor Martínez Arteche, featuring artists from Hermosillo, Oaxaca and other Mexican states. Director Alejandro Contreras Carrillo noted strong community attendance. MUSAS operates Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., with admission of 30 pesos (15 pesos for eligible groups).
