Hermosillo Mayor Antonio Astiazarán Backs 4×4 Technology Challenge for Student Engineers

Mayor Antonio “Toño” Astiazarán of Hermosillo announced municipal support for the 4×4 Technology Challenge México, a national STEAM‑focused engineering competition. The event invites multidisciplinary high‑school and university teams to design, build and operate remote‑controlled off‑road vehicle prototypes.

Astiazarán, together with Oscar Gastélum Donnadieu of the municipal Economic Development Agency, met with organizers and student participants—including Jesús Ramsés Miranda Nogales, Paulina Bojórquez Hernández, Aarón Darío Lizcano Durazo and Emmanuel Tadeo Noriega Briseño—who explained that regional rounds will be held in Hermosillo and Puebla in March 2027, with a national final slated for July 2027. The mayor highlighted the initiative’s role in revitalizing post‑pandemic innovation, fostering teamwork and positioning Hermosillo as a hub for youth technology entrepreneurship.
