Hermosillo Mayor promotes Sonoran gastronomy in Mexico City

Antonio Astiazarán Gutiérrez, the mayor of Hermosillo, presented the ‘Sabores de la H’ culinary experience to the Mexican Academy of Gastronomy in Mexico City. The initiative serves as a strategic effort to promote the identity and tourism appeal of Hermosillo and the state of Sonora.

The event featured a menu highlighting regional ingredients and traditions from communities such as Bahía de Kino, San Pedro, and Villa de Seris. Featured products included bacanora, shrimp, callo de Bahía de Kino, machaca, beef, and flour tortillas. Chefs Karla Vallejo and Armando Rodríguez prepared the dishes, with participation from local restaurants including Mochomos, Palominos, and Tacos Armando.

Notable attendees included the British Ambassador Susannah Goshko, the Lebanese Ambassador George El Jallad, and the Mayor of the Cuauhtémoc delegation, Alessandra Rojo de la Vega. The gathering also included Academy President Gabriel Cárdenas Cornish, restaurateur Susana Palazuelos, and gastronomic anthropologist Ricardo Muñoz Zurita.
