Hermosillo to build two new fire stations by 2027
During the 80th anniversary celebration of the Hermosillo Fire Department, Mayor Antonio Astiazarán Gutiérrez announced the construction of two new fire stations scheduled for 2027. These new bases will be located on Quiroga Boulevard and Enrique Mazón Boulevard, aimed at improving emergency response times for residents in the eastern and western sectors of the city, as well as rural eastern communities.
The initiative follows a 20-year period without the creation of new municipal fire bases. The project is expected to be a collaborative effort between the municipal government and the business sector.
During the ceremony, the Mayor also honored the department's founders. Representatives Fernando Manzanares Flores, René Rodríguez González, Ramón Camarena López, and Carlos Martínez Duarte accepted awards on behalf of the twelve veterans who originally served as volunteers to manage the city's emergencies.
