Hermosillo to host third Perche Fest in October 2026

The third edition of Perche Fest is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026, in Hermosillo, Sonora, as part of the Víactiva event. The festival provides a platform for local entrepreneurs specializing in 'burros percherones' to promote their businesses to thousands of attendees.

Local vendors can compete for two awards: ‘El Mejor Perche de la H’ and ‘El Perche Más Creativo de la H’. Winners of the top prize will receive a commemorative plaque and a free placement at the January 2027 Festival del Globo. The creative award winner will receive a plaque and a 50% discount on a stand for that same event.

As part of the festivities, 45 gastronomy students from the Universidad del Valle de México (UVM) will prepare ‘El Burro Percherón Más Grande de la H’. This massive sandwich is expected to measure at least 15 meters and contain 25 kilograms of meat and various vegetables to be shared with attendees.
