Hermosillo's Dogo Fest 2026 to Boost Local Tourism and Small Businesses

The municipal government of Hermosillo, Sonora, has set September 6, 2026 for the third edition of Dogo Fest, a hot‑dog festival held in the historic centre. The event is organised by the municipal tourism department under director Fernanda Cisneros Rodríguez and supported by municipal president Antonio Astiazarán Gutiérrez as part of Víactiva program edition 362.

Dogo Fest aims to promote Hermosillo’s distinctive gastronomy, give visibility to family‑run hot‑dog vendors, and strengthen local tourism. The programme includes contests for the Best Dogo, the Most Creative Dogo, a Dogo Challenge, and an attempt to build the longest hot‑dog, with students from Universidad Durango Santander preparing the record‑breaking entry. Registration for vendors remains open via a WhatsApp line.

The previous edition attracted more than 18,000 visitors and generated a notable economic spill‑over for small businesses, reinforcing the festival’s role as a platform for gastronomic tourism and local commerce.
