Hermès perfumer Christine Nagel launches Barénia Pleine Fleur

Hermès perfumer Christine Nagel has released Barénia Pleine Fleur, a new fragrance inspired by white lilies and the brand’s heritage. The scent aims to portray a modern woman who is both elegant and strong, blending floral notes with the brand’s signature chypre structure.

The fragrance features white lily and orange blossom, balanced by warm notes of roasted oakwood, patchouli, and miracle berry. The design of the refillable bottle incorporates pink-orange lacquer and silver metal details, referencing the brand’s leather craftsmanship.

Nagel’s development of the Barénia line was a long-term personal project. After joining Hermès in 2014, she spent nearly ten years and conducted approximately 987 trials to perfect a chypre fragrance for the house. The project was driven by her desire to explore the contrast between fresh floral notes and woody depths, inspired by the brand’s history and its use of Barénia leather.
