Hernando County K9 tracks motorcyclist into woods after crash
A Hernando County deputy attempted a traffic stop on an unplated motorcycle on October 10, leading the driver to flee at high speed. The motorcycle was later found abandoned and wrecked along St. Andrews Boulevard.
Deputies deployed K-9 Kylo to track the driver, who was discovered hiding near a tree in the Weeki Wachee Woods area. The driver, identified as William Hargis, was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment following the crash.
Hargis faces charges of fleeing and eluding law enforcement and driving with a revoked license. Records indicated he lacked a motorcycle endorsement.
