Hernán Darío Herrera offers to resign from Once Caldas amid earthquake crisis

Once Caldas manager Hernán Darío Herrera has offered to resign from his position in protest against the potential resumption of professional football in Colombia following a magnitude 7.4 earthquake.

In an emotional interview with Win Sports, Herrera expressed his refusal to lead the team while the country deals with casualties and people trapped under rubble. He noted that the earthquake has directly impacted his squad, revealing that at least two players, including Prono Velásquez, have lost their homes or suffered significant structural damage to their residences.

The coach stated he is unwilling to travel for upcoming matches, such as the scheduled game against Alianza in Valledupar, until his players are emotionally prepared. His stance comes as Dimayor evaluates whether to restart football activities on Friday, August 14.
