Hernán Doval launches Regional 5B and plans provincial protest for Buenos Aires municipal workers

Hernán Doval, secretary‑general of the Federación de Sindicatos Municipales Bonaerenses (FESIMUBO), inaugurated the Regional 5B of municipal unions in San Miguel. The new regional brings together unions from San Isidro, Tigre, San Fernando, Vicente López, San Martín, Pilar, Campana and other northern districts. Doval warned of delayed salaries, precarious employment and concerns over municipal budgets and privatizations, saying, “Tenemos un poco de temor de qué va a pasar con el aguinaldo en diciembre…”. He announced that the federation will define measures for the second half of the year.

The meeting also served to coordinate a provincial “plan de lucha”, aiming to pressure the Buenos Aires provincial government and Governor Axel Kicillof. Doval urged unions to act collectively, repeating the rallying call, “El que tenga miedo de dar las discusiones que tenemos que dar los municipales, que se quede en la casa”. The effort seeks to centralize demands on salary increases, budget transparency and the protection of municipal workers across the province.
