Hernán Galíndez clarifies return to Ecuador national team

Ecuadorian goalkeeper Hernán Galíndez has clarified his return to the national team ahead of a friendly match against South Korea. Following the World Cup, Galíndez had previously expressed that his performance against Mexico might have been his final appearance for the squad due to frustration and his age.

During a press conference, Galíndez explained that his earlier comments were made in a moment of anger and sadness. He noted that after reflecting and speaking with his family, he decided to make himself available to the team. He expressed gratitude to new head coach Marcelo Gallardo for the opportunity and stated he is willing to serve the team in any capacity, whether as a starter or a substitute.
