Hero Motors shares rally 69% above IPO price

Hero Motors Limited, an Indian automotive technology company specializing in powertrain solutions, has experienced a significant post-listing stock rally. After debuting on the NSE and BSE at approximately ₹82.1, the stock initially faced a slight discount compared to its ₹84 IPO issue price.

Following its debut, the share price surged, hitting an intraday high of ₹141.85 on Friday, September 25. This represents a nearly 69% increase from its original IPO price. The rally was supported by strong secondary-market demand, a large block deal involving approximately 2.4 crore shares valued at ₹281 crore, and investor optimism regarding the company’s electric vehicle (EV) and powertrain exposure.

The company’s IPO, which offered nearly ₹1,000 crore for subscription, was subscribed 6.66 times. The listing saw high trading volumes, with a total turnover across the BSE and NSE reaching ₹1,435.5 crore on the first day.
