Heroes Highway slip lanes near Demerara River Bridge nearing completion
Construction of the slip lanes along the Heroes Highway on the East Bank Demerara is nearing completion. These lanes are designed to facilitate traffic flow to and from the Bharrat Jagdeo Demerara River Bridge.
According to Housing Minister Collin Croal, the construction phase is finished, with only the installation of metal protective barriers remaining. This final work is expected to take approximately one week. The completed western slip lane will allow traffic from the bridge to transition directly onto the Haags Bosch Road, which connects to the East Bank Public Road. On the eastern side, an additional lane has already been opened to the public, providing a third lane to manage traffic between the Eccles Roundabout and the bridge access road.
