Heroes of Tomorrow debuts at Dublin Theatre Festival
The production ‘Heroes of Tomorrow’ is currently being showcased at the Project Arts Centre as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival. Written and created by Feidlim Cannon, Gary Keegan, and Andy Smith, the play explores the intersection of art, society, and political change.
The narrative centers on a fictional Scandinavian artist, Jan Hansen, who uses his work to advocate for social and environmental issues. Through this character, the production examines the complex relationship between artists and the corporate industries that fund them, questioning the extent of complicity when relying on such donations.
The performance features actors Malua Ní Chléirigh, Alice Roots, and Michael Tient. The production utilizes a blend of drama and visual art, including live creation and destruction of art on stage, to discuss themes such as identity, the evolution of art forms, and the impact of contemporary innovations like artificial intelligence.
