Hersheypark closes long-running holiday drive-thru and water ride

Hersheypark has announced the permanent closure of two long-standing attractions. The drive-thru holiday tradition, ‘Hershey Sweet Lights’, which ran for 20 seasons since 2005, will not return this holiday season. The park stated this decision allows them to “focus on growing Hersheypark Christmas Candylane”, an on-foot holiday event.

Additionally, the park has retired ‘Tidal Force’, a 32-year-old water ride located in The Boardwalk section of the park. The attraction featured a boat drop from 100 feet at speeds exceeding 50 mph. The ride officially concluded its operations following Labor Day.
