Herten residents invited to submit dog photos for World Dog Day

In celebration of World Dog Day 2026, residents of Herten are invited to submit their best dog photos via email for a community feature. The initiative aims to highlight the role of dogs as companions, family members, and service animals, including rescue and therapy dogs.

Selected photographs will be featured in an online gallery and in the local newspaper. Participants must submit their entries by October 8, 2026, including the owner's name, the dog's name, breed, and a brief description. The event also serves as a platform for animal welfare organizations to raise awareness regarding issues such as illegal puppy trading and extreme breeding.
