Hertha BSC and Union Berlin post huge victories in pre‑season test matches
Hertha BSC opened its Bundesliga preparation with a 15‑0 win over Frohnauer SC in a test game in Berlin. The team rotated heavily, scoring in rapid succession in both halves, with Sebastian Grönning, Pascal Klemens, Julian Eitschberger and several others on the scoresheet. Goalkeeper Tjark Ernst, whose €5 million move to Feyenoord is imminent, watched from the stands.
Union Berlin, coached by newly appointed Mauro Lustrinelli, recorded a 12‑2 triumph against Oberliga side Optik Rathenow. The victory featured goals from Andrej Ilic, Linus Güther, Marin Ljubicic and others, while new centre‑backs Zeno van den Bosch and Marvin Friedrich debuted. Lustrinelli praised the performance, noting the team's tactical shape and the variety of goal‑scorers after only three days of training.
