Hertha BSC assigns leadership role to new signing Mads Pedersen

Hertha BSC has integrated new signing Mads Pedersen into the squad following his arrival from FC Augsburg. The 29-year-old left-back has participated in training and a recent 11-on-11 practice match alongside loanee Farid Alfa-Ruprecht to familiarize himself with the team's set-piece routines.

Coach Stefan Leitl has assigned Pedersen a specific leadership role outside of match play: acting as a mentor to 17-year-old academy talent Mayson Grothe. As the only other trained left-back in the squad, Pedersen is expected to guide the youngster.

Regarding upcoming fixtures, Leitl has not yet confirmed if Pedersen will start in the match against Braunschweig, though he noted the player is in good condition. The club's management has indicated a preference for internal development over extensive external transfers during the current window.
