Hertha BSC's squad value plunges to historic low as club confronts relegation threat

Hertha BSC's market value has collapsed from €62.28 million at the end of last season to just €22.08 million, the lowest since 2004. The drop follows a rapid sell‑off of key players, including captain Fabian Reese to Wolfsburg for €8 million, goalkeeper Tjark Ernst to Feyenoord for €5 million, and several others. The club must generate a €15 million surplus this transfer window and has already posted a €27 million net positive balance after recent deals.

To meet its new financial targets, Hertha has trimmed the wage bill from roughly €30 million to about €20 million, releasing or selling twelve squad members. The Bundesliga (formerly DFL) is monitoring the situation, and a three‑point deduction for the upcoming season has been discussed as a possible sanction.
