Hervé Vilard criticizes Claude François's character and professionalism
During an appearance on the television program ‘C à Vous’ on France 5, singer Hervé Vilard shared candid and critical reflections regarding his former colleague, Claude François. Vilard described the late artist as ‘ignoble’ and ‘not a nice guy,’ despite acknowledging his professional talent.
Recalling their time on a joint tour, Vilard alleged that Claude François acted disrespectfully toward fellow performers by intentionally cutting their microphone wires and disabling their echo effects. Vilard expressed deep disappointment, noting that while he admired François as a formidable artist and had helped sell his records, he found his personality to be difficult.
These remarks come as the 79-year-old singer prepares for an upcoming recital tour across France, where he is expected to perform classic hits such as ‘Capri, c'est fini’ and ‘Méditerranéenne.’
