Hervé Villard rebukes Léa Salamé on television

During a broadcast of the program ‘Quelle époque !’ on France 2, singer Hervé Villard confronted host Léa Salamé after she attempted to question him about his 1967 coming-out on France Inter.

When asked if the topic of his coming-out annoyed him, Villard responded that it was uninteresting to repeatedly discuss his sexuality, stating, “Yes, it annoys me because it is not interesting to go on and tell people that one loves men.” Villard noted that while the era of 1967 made such discussions difficult, the event was a straightforward part of his history.
