Herzegovina and Slavonia host diplomatic and European grape harvest ceremonies

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers, hosted the Diplomatic Grape Harvest in Međugorje. The event, part of the BLAŽ Enology wine festival, welcomed over 40 representatives from the diplomatic corps, ambassadors, and heads of international missions to mark the start of the harvest season in the Broćansko vineyards.

Krišto emphasized that such gatherings promote the economic, tourism, and wine potential of Herzegovina and Bosnia and Herzegovina. She noted that these interactions allow international representatives to see the country's resources and potential for growth despite its complex political structure.

Meanwhile, in Croatia, the start of the 2026 European Grape Harvest was officially declared on August 22 in Feričane. This declaration was part of the activities of the European Wine Knights Order (Ordo Equestris Vini Europae), which brought together members from approximately ten European countries for a program in Našice and Slavonia. The early date of the declaration reflects changing agro-climatic trends and rising temperatures affecting grape maturity.
