Herzegovina-Neretva Canton begins mandatory deratization campaign
The Institute for Public Health of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton has launched its mandatory autumn preventive deratization campaign to reduce rodent populations to biologically tolerable levels and maintain epidemiological stability.
Poisonous baits will be placed in various locations, including public and green spaces, sewage manholes, cemeteries, riverbanks, waste disposal sites, and educational, health, and religious institutions. Authorities have issued a strict warning for citizens not to touch or move the baits due to their toxic content. Pet owners are urged to keep animals under supervision or indoors in accordance with legal regulations to prevent accidental ingestion.
The campaign schedule across the canton includes: - Jablanica and Prozor-Rama: October 12–13 - Konjic: October 12–20 - Mostar: October 14–27 - Čitluk and Stolac: October 28–29 - Ravno: October 29 - Neum: October 30 - Čapljina: October 30–November 4
Officials noted that schedules may shift due to unforeseen circumstances.
