HES Kablo land dispute enters 12th year in Kayseri

A long-standing legal dispute continues in the Hacılar district of Kayseri regarding the ownership of the land occupied by the HES Kablo factory. Established in 1974 for energy cable production, the factory has been utilizing the land for approximately 50 years.

Heirs of the original owners claim the land is their titled property inherited from their ancestors. The legal battle has lasted roughly 12 to 13 years. Due to the passage of time and generational changes, the number of heirs involved in the lawsuit has grown from approximately 120 to 280 people.

One heir, Kadir İl, stated that although they had previously won two court cases, those decisions were overturned by the Regional Court of Justice (Istinaf). The heirs are seeking the sale of the land through a court order to distribute the proceeds among shareholders, as well as retroactive rental payments for the period the factory has occupied the site.

The factory's ownership history includes periods under Erciyes Anadolu Holding and management by the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF). HES Kablo was reportedly sold to Nakkaş Holding in 2025.
