Hesco barriers installed at Dorohusk border crossing face scrutiny

Following the reinforcement of Border Guard posts at the Dorohusk border crossing, defense analyst Jarosław Wolski has addressed public criticism regarding the use of Hesco barriers. The fortifications, which were part of an operation involving the Polish Army, drew mockery on social media from users questioning their durability and effectiveness against significant strikes.

Wolski clarified that Hesco systems are a professional method for establishing field fortifications used globally for decades to provide rapid protective structures. He noted that these shelters are designed to protect personnel, such as customs officers, from shrapnel in the event of an air raid or drone strike. While acknowledging that Hesco barriers are a temporary solution compared to reinforced concrete shelters, Wolski emphasized their proven track record in saving soldiers' lives.
