Hesse and Wisconsin expand scientific partnership
To mark the 50th anniversary of their partnership, the German state of Hesse and the U.S. state of Wisconsin are working to expand scientific and research cooperation. Hessian Science Minister Timon Gremmels led a delegation of university representatives to Wisconsin to meet with Governor Tony Evers and leadership from the 13 universities within the University of Wisconsin System.
Future collaborative efforts will focus on several key areas, including the integration of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning, knowledge transfer, entrepreneurship, and democracy research. The Hessian Ministry of Science, Research, Art, and Culture intends to provide seed funding to support these new joint initiatives. The delegation visited institutions such as the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee to explore potential synergies in computing, AI, and entrepreneurship.
